¿Love Gaelic Football?

By Morgan Fagg

All eyes will be on the Spanish capital this Saturday as teams from across the peninsula head for Madrid for the third round of the Iberian Tournament which will be held at the rugby pitches in Hortaleza near Campo de las Naciones after two fantastic rounds in Barcelona and A Coruña in March and April.

The sun came out in Barcelona and A Coruña for the gaelic teams and the sun was certainly shining on the Madrid Harps whose Men´s and Women´s teams remain undefeated so far this year.

Now the tournament is coming to the Harps home turf and every team will be anxious to make every shot count for their county, sorry their region as they travel the length and breath of Spain for some fantastic football.

2014 has been a great year for the Harps with the Men´s, Women´s and Kid´s team, with the boys and girls under 14 years of age playing their first international game in France last week.

Even if you are over 14 years old, its not too late to kick, pass and score and play G.A.A. internationally and to join, train and celebrate with like minded Spanish and Irish people.

This week, Madrid will welcome our caras agus amigos from Valencia San Vicent, Barcelona Gaels, Pontevedra FG, Andalucia, Irmandinhos A Estrada and A Coruña Fillos de Breogán.

The Madrid Harps lead the field so far this year in the tournament and the Harpettes are leading in a similar pitch but the under 14 boys and girls have made all the Spanish G.A.A. teams proud this year with an epic win in France last week.

Regardless of whoever wins this week, the celebrations will be held in Madrid.

See you there.
