– Do you need transport?
– Do you have your own car and can drive?
– When you want to leave Madrid.
– Do you need accommodation?
– How many drinks are going to buy to your beloved secretary.
6.- ST PATRICKS CHARITY GALA BALL 2014
Anne Marie from the Irish Embassy:
We are delighted to let you know that the SIBN will once again organise a St. Patrick’s Day Charity Gala Ball this year, building on the success of the last ball in 2012 (see here for a YouTube video), which raised €31,500 for Barretstown Children’s Charity.
The ball will take place in the Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid on Friday 14 March 2014. The evening will consist of a cocktail reception at 8pm, followed by dinner featuring the finest of Irish and Spanish gastronomy, live entertainment, and dancing until late.
Our chosen charities are Debra Ireland and Debra España, which provide comfort and hope to children and adults living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB patients have no collagen in their skin and the skin layers tear and blister at the slightest touch. The skin is as delicate as a butterfly’s wing and simply touching the surface of the skin can cause wounds that never heal.
Debra Ireland urgently require an on-the-road nurse to make calls to households to change bandages for children and alleviate this heart-breaking duty for parents. 50% of the funds we raise at the ball will be used towards the partial payment of a nurse. The other 50% of the funds we raise will go to the Debra España respite home in Marbella, which provides families with a much-needed holiday with the support of trained and friendly staff.
Other guests at the ball will include Mr John Bruton, former Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of Ireland, Ambassador of Ireland to Spain, Mr Justin Harman, along with members of the Spanish-Irish community, public and business figures from Spain and Ireland and members of the Madrid-based diplomatic corps.
Tickets cost €100 and all proceeds will go to Debra Ireland and Debra España. Full details are available on our dedicated website, http://www.stpatricksdaymadrid.es. You can also buy your tickets on that website, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you or your company are interested in sponsoring this event, or buying a table, please do not hesitate to get in touch at email@example.com. We have prepared an information pack which details the corporate sponsorship options and we can send this to you on request.
If you feel you have something to contribute and would like to help out with the organization of the ball, please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We very much look forward to seeing you this St. Patrick´s weekend.
